Headliner
I have a 98 B5 and the headliner is starting to sag. Any tips on getting the headliner out of the car without ruining it so I can fix it?

It's just a bunch of pulling parts and trim, starting with removing the front seats for better access. I pulled mine a year or so ago to remove and fix a malfunctioning sunroof. Most of the pillar trim clips on, and pulls off, but see if you can find the Bentley pages that show the proper way to take those parts off. I got stumped at the rear pillar trim, and cracked both (which were super-brittle).

I just put the seats back and down, and didn't bother with the C pillars when I pulled the sunroof. Just left the linear hanging from the back, didn't seem to do it any harm.

I don't gave a sunroof. Do I really need to remove the B and C pillar trim to get the liner off? Does all the trim just pop off? Special tools needed?

search "glue headliner" there is another site that has write ups for this
you'd need to search quattro… and then a different world… but that's different. |
