Default Heater air comes out luke warm again not hot.

I posted last year about heater problem in 2001 A4TQ starting hot then going cold. After 2 trips to the dealer (still under extended warranty) They replaced the heater core and engine thermostat, flushed and replaced coolant. The heater worked fine for about 5 months.

Now I just get luke warm air from the heater. It doesn't matter whether on Auto, Econ or if the temp is set to 80 or hi. The air is the same temp. The A/C works fine.

Any suggestions? I'd hate to have the dealer keep my car for 7 days again and say they can't find the problem.

Thanks,
Bruce

Engine coolant thermostat? The last one was stuck open so that shouldn't afffect the heater, right?

Default Stuck open is not an OEM audi thermostat, OEM's stick closed...

I would try the $10 part before you go into more expensive ones.

Default It's 80 outside today, who needs the heater! (more)

Does the dash temp gauge go down when you are on the highway? I know I was having a similar problem. They thought it was the water pump, but it turned out to be a faulty thermostat next to the water pump. They repaced it flushed and filled the system and it was nice and toasty (when I was using it). Today just a little to hot to add any heat.
