Heater problem.

Heater problem.
My heater seems to be weak. I back flushed the heater core and some stuff came out. I run the coolant through the core backwards to see if that would help. I think there was improvement but at idle the heat is only warm. At around 2500 to 3000 rpm it is good and hot. So it seems to be a flow issue. I took off the hose to the heater and at idle very little coolant came out. At 3000 rpm there was a nice flow. I do not have any problems with over heating so I assume my water pump is Ok (also the water pump was replaced 20k miles ago with the timing belt and all). I just got the car so I do not have anything to compare it to. Maybe it has always had a weak heater. Any ideas.

Yes that was changed with the timing belt and the heat pump.
The car comes to operating temp in at a normal rate and stays there. Not too hot and not too cold. For my taste the heater is fine but my girlfriend wants it to be 80 degrees inside the car the minute the temp drop below 45. There is a chance that there is nothing wrong. It was just delivers warm and not hot air at idle??

I'm not sure now that you bring your girlfriend into this
Get a probing thermometer and stick it in the face vent with the air at the desired temp. If the thermometer's temp is with in +/- 4-5 degrees of the desired temp, I'd say your system is ok.
Tell your GF that wearing summer clothing is NOT acceptable during the winter and if the car can't get warm enough, well that's to F'in bad.
I've NEVER put the temp above 74 F in my car, and that was only to clear the windshield.
