Default help! "chirping" sound coming from front suspension

I need insight quickly. My a4 is in the shop, as I write this, for the third time regarding this problem. Whenever I drive over rough surfaces, manhole covers, breaks in the asphalt etc. the front suspension makes a chirping sound. The dealer has replaced both front control arms, but that did not help. Currently, they are on the phone with Audi, since they aren't sure what it is and they can't reproduce the sound in the shop. Any ideas or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Try greasing the sway bar bushings.

Default I have it too. Someone also said tightening something else.

I don't remember because I just put it on my service dept to do list.

Default I'll bet I know what it is................

Does it go away if you're on the brakes? I'll bet it does if it's a very high pitched chirp.

If it goes away while you're applying brake pressure, then it's the pads contacting the rusty areas of the rotors. My dealer refinished the rotors numerous times, only to have the problem reappear, so eventually they just gave me new pads and rotors.

We thought it was CA's forever - what a PITA.

Default Hot damn! You've just diagnosed the exact problem I'm having!...............

I'm getting a REALLY high pitched whine coming only from the right front wheel area. When I get on the brakes, the sound disappears. Certain days it's there, certain days it's not. And it happens only at around 30-40MPH. Goes away if I'm slower or faster than that. I had a suspicion it was a brake pad rubbing the rotor.

Oh, mine only happens when the right wheel goes over sharp bumps.

But does it not happen if you're braking?

Default Me too.....

Exactly as you described. Went on for over 2 weeks until when washing the right front wheel I went overboard spraying the area with water and afterwards....no squeel no matter what I did......Go figure......of course it'll probably come back in a day or two but I'm glad the problem has been "diagnosed" and shared with other drivers....
