I replaced that motor/pump with the one from myers1.8TQ and ...

Awesomeness.

I got my central locking functionality back.

Yep. But hope this one doesn't go bad for at least few years. I will have to score another unit as a backup.

Yeah hopefully it last. Did you wrap it in a plastic bag and zip-tie it?

Well no I didn't. But the lid has a rubber sealing which is pretty tight. it almost feels like it would be watertight.

Why would I need to do that though?

It is common for it to get wet back there. That is what happened to mine and the rubber seal was good too. I recommend doing it.

Hmmm. I should do that. I will keep it on my list for summer.

I am wondering though, how can water seep at that location? From where?

I would definitely do it. Dont want to go through the annoyance again Im sure. This red tube is the sunroof drain and it can come loose and drain directly on the CLP. Mine wasnt in the correct place, but it still gets wet back there anyway.
