Default Help. Front left brake pad squeals/chirps when steering is neutral...

...got Mintex Red pads on there with a few thousand miles on them (including one track event where I abused the snot out of them). Front left pad is making me nuts - it squeals when the steering is neutral...moving the wheel left or right will stop it because the pad touches the rotor.

Is there a home remedy to my problem?

Default Remove pads and clean them and any contact points. Use any of the available brake pad noise

suppresion compounds( I like the grease types)and apply it to any metal to metal contact point between the backing plate and the caliper/carrier assy. You can also put a slight bevel on the edge of the pads ( this sometimes helps.)

Do the pads have the retaining clip on them? Do they have the clip that stick in the piston side?

Yep. I'll troll the local parts store for something more suitable.
