The lever under the dash is not functioning. Any suggestions as to how to repair? Also, is there another way to open the hood in the meantime?

the hood release is actully controlled by the computer.. try clicking unlock a couple times

After a few hours of trying to squeeze my fingers in to try and pop the hood, I gave up and took it to a mechanic. He put it up on a lift and used a very long rod to manually hit the hood release latch (he said there was no way I could have done it by hand).

Tried, no effect. There is no tension on the lever.

Once the hood is open, it should be very easy to see how to reattach the cable.
