How do you remove the chrome window trim from A4 2.8Q ?
I have a 98 A4Q 2.8 and I want to remove the chrome trim from the sides (that goes around all the windows.) Yeah, I want the "look" of the 1.8T, I just don't like chrome much.
So, acm anyone tell me if this is something I can do easily - and how? This is a leased car so I must be able to put it back on! Will it look the same as the turbo after this? Thanks in advance to any one kind enough to respond! |

Check the archives as this has come up a lot in the past. I don't believe I've ever seen anyone post that they have been sucessful in doing this, but there could have been some I missed. I asked around about this when I was considering getting a 1.8 vs. 2.8 and never got a successful idea.

I don't think it would look the same as the 1.8T, as it has black trim. It would probably look like an A4 without trim...probably a little weird. I agree with you though-- I don't much care for the chrome trim on the 2.8 either.

How about a flat black plastic film, cut to fit, applied like Stongard?

Thanks, everyone.... guess I'll look into obtaining the 1.8 trim (nt)
