How long should the Airbag light stay on for...(more) also get my H&R/Bilstein installed tomorrow..
 

My Airbag light is staying on for a good couple minutes everytime I start the car. I never remember it staying on that long before. It started after I had a dashlight replaced behind the speedometer.

I am getting my H&R/Bilstein installed tomorrow (which I am very excited about) so if this is not right for the light to stay on this long, I am going to make them fix it.

Also, Should the alignment be checked after the suspension is installed?

I'd take it in for the light. I've read that alignment need not be done for A4s, but double check.

When you changed the bulb in the dash, you most probably disconnected the two cables on the back of the dash, right? And, when having the dash disconnected, you probably turned the ignition on (for one second or longer does not matter), right?

If the ignition is turned on when the dash is disconnected, the electronic brain in the car will pop up an error message. This is indicated by the airbag light staying on for 2 minutes.

The only way to get it back to normal is to let your local dealer reset the error-memory.

The bulb cost me USD 4.-, the memory reset 40.-!!
