How many volts should a fully charged battery read?

*bbuuuuzzz* Thank you for playing. Sould read 14.4/14.5 at the terminals with the engine runing.....
.....usualy with the engine rpms up in the 1500+rpm range. With the car off ,it should read 12.6-12.7 for a fully charged lead acid battery.

No, just an example...
Back in the early to mid 80's I was an car stereo installer. We had a lotta problems back then with 50 to 70 amp alternators keeping up with the larger multi-amp systems. It was big thing back then to use rewound alternators or dual alternator setups plus multiple batteries to keep everything going. the side benifit was the batteries acted as big-a$$ capacitors for the surges the boom cars demanded.
Audio today is much more efficient and altenators put out more power than 70's era Delcos and Motorcrafts. I've switched careers (network geek) and have been pretty much out of it for more than 10 years. Still the principles are pretty much the same.
