i'm just wondering about the reliability of the chipped k03 when its being run at redline for long periods of time. how long do you guys stay on track at a time and how often do you guys head out to the track? i run up in the hills quite a bit and i find second gear too short...i could really use the bumped-up rev limiter. i just don't want to blow up my turbo. :P

5 track days, ~20 auto-x days, chipped for 51k, no problems. Track sessions are usually a half-hour.
But it's easy to avoid blowing your turbo, chipped or not -- just keep an eye on the tach. You paid for five gears, might as well use 'em all!

not all of us have enough money for stage 3's mr bradford ;)
i don't want to go thru the hassle of swapping a turbo out if i don't have to newayz. i find the power adequate for now with my crappy tires newayz. jus lookin for a bit more gear.

anything past 5500 RPMs is below the best powerband. ~30 minutes per session 3-4 times each track
day. I just started, but more will most likely follow.
I wait, as usual, to warm-up the car to 200 on the oil and drive around the paddock a bit to keep everything a operating temps. then, once I pit, cool down for a much longer time period than normal. I watch the oil temp to at least drop to 225 from 250-260. again, I'm really slow taking the pit, down pit lane and drive around the paddock, then let the engine run to cool the turbo.
