Default I changed my A4 order to a quattro.

After much consideration and forum reading. I decided to go for the quattro. I had orderd an A4 2.8 FT Tip Melange/Ecru Advance, Prem., Leather, ESP, Bose, Xenon. Friday, I called and added Quattro. I had been told that I had 3 weeks to make changes to my order. The salesman said I did the smart thing. I was told delivery wouldn't be until October... just in time for winter!

Default On a slightly different subject - concerning order placement.

Since your dealer gave you 3 weeks to change your mind does this mean that the order could not be placed into Audi until the end of the 3 week period. I hear that orders to Audi run in monthly cycles and if you happen to place an order after the cycle begins then your order will not go in until the next cycle which could be up to four weeks. I imagine this could account for some of the disparity of when people receive their cars. Do you know if this is true, and do dealers have the info on this so I know that my order won't be sitting idle for a month. Thanks..<p>cessna_Joe

Default Not sure about how Audi does it, but...

I know that when you order a BMW, the order is placed that day by the dealer, and the car is given a status code. The first one is "Order Received by AG" and each code has its number... the higher the number, the farther along the car is. Up until the order is put in for processing, ou can modify the order. You usually have about a week to make changes. If you want a full list of BMWs status codes, visit bimmer.org's E46 board and click on the FAQ.
