I didn't recode it, I don't even have a VAG-COM. I knew it was bad because my shop gave me the fault code (65536) and told me it was time for a new one. I bought a salvaged one from Shokan (very reputable) and just installed it. Do I need to get it recoded even though it's not brand new? Or does the airbag light stay until it's cleared in cases like this?

Default Get ahold of a VAG-COM and reset it, probably all it needs

Takes all of about 15mins.
