I Just rotated my tires. Who would of thought
Damn What an Effort!
I used my spare so that I could move the tires around.
I used the Cross method.
driver front to Passenger rear
Passenger rear to Driver Front
Passenger Front to Driver Rear
Driver Rear to Passenger Front
I would never have thought that i could eat away so much sidewall in 5000 miles! espessialy since im now running on 255/40/17's, with 39 pounds of pressure.
Took me about 2 hours.
I think you should just pay for it at the dealer, $24.

Uhh I think you're not supposed to Cross them ideally...
Front to back...back to front...but not across.
The tires are biased ply right...many tires are directional...so your rear drivers tire should never be on the front pass side or even rear pass as it's rotating the opposite direction than it's, "used" to.
I'm not terribly technical on this...but it sounds bad IMHO.

Johnny, I'm back and James is right...
...you rotate radial tires from front to back (no crossing). You cross bias-ply tires when rotating. That's what the "California Driver Improvement Home Study Program Handbook" says, and that book never lies. ;-)

Johnny, do you have a Costco membership? If so they will rotate your tire for free, regardless of
whether you bought the tires from them, just a part of their membership benefits. If you pay them $6 per tire they will give you lifetime balancing of the tires as well (the life of the tires that is). They use adhesive weights and most have some type of european balancing spinner. I have the tires on my ride balanced and rotate every 5000 miles, while they are doing the work, I will go off and buy that 50 gallon drum of olive oil which will never fit in my car and get a chicken bake as well.
