The owner says he thinks it is fuel related. What to check first? I will take my VAG with me.
It is a '97 1.8t w/ 125k miles, timing belt 10K ago, auto, non-sport in Cactus green.
He is asking $3900 for it. Other than not starting he says it is in great condition.

That price is a little steep if it has issues. There are two near me that run fine for less $$.
One is a 97 or early 98 12VQM, decent car though $2500 silver, one is a 98.5? 1.8TQM that is very clean and recent TB/CA service but has 140-150K and needs tires & maybe brakes. I think he was asking $3500 dark green.

How long has it been sitting?
Both of the cars I bought (the silver parts car and the black car) were sitting for 1 yr or so and it really took a toll on them. Moldy carpets, everything in the engine bay and under the car is rusted. Luckily I'm not planning on reselling either of them but if I were I think it would be a tough sale.
