I need your help...
I'm trying to get my dealer to pay for my control arm replacements, even though I've been out of warranty for almost a year. I'm only at 53,000 mi. and I really don't have the money to get them fixed right now. Any one who has had theirs replaced for free, but not under warranty please respond and explain your mileage and what dealer you used. I'd really appreciate your help.

Haven't been....
I bought the car from a used dealer (one I work for) in November, and have never taken it to the dealer. I haven't had to since I've done all the necessary maintance myself. This, on the other hand, I can't handle. I think the last dealer stamp was a little more than a year ago, just before the warranty expired and with 38,000 miles.

I hear what you're saying....
but the miles weren't the issue with me. When I bought the car it had 39,000 miles on it, but the warranty time had expired. The car was "activated" in 6/97, and I bought it in 11/00.

1000 dollars for 2-year 30,000 mile. 125 a month for 8 months.
I bought a '96 A4 2.8 and since there wasn't any real warranty, I decided to buy one last night for some peace of mind. I have 60,000 miles on the car now and I don't drive much and I plan on having a new car in two years anyway.
