Default I want a deeper sound with my Remus exhaust...

I have Remus exhaust with some custom, larger piping from the cat back to the muffler. I do not, however, have a different resonator. I have been told by some that buying a new resonator, or taking it out completely, will help me achieve a deeper sounding exhaust system. This is a possibility, but I don't want to make my car sound ricey (I am afraid that might happen if I remove the resonator). You can see from the attached picture the Remus exhaust that I currently have.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make my exhaust sound deeper?

Default turbo cars never sound ricey with big ole exhausts..

the muffling effect of the turbo gets rid of that sound. Also you're losing a bit of power from that resonator anyways

Default replace your resonator with a glasspack - you'll love it.

I tried that last week - yanked my SuperSprint resonator and tried it with a straight pipe (sounded like ****e) and a glasspack. The glasspack improved driveability, and was just a little louder than the supersprint resonator...absolutely the way to go is youre looking for a little more throaty noise. Best part of all, it should only cost you around $70.

Default Yeah. Its basically a straight through muffler - usually has fiberglass...

...around the tube, and has some dimples on the inside of the pipe.
