Ignition Switch update.
I was handed a bill for $300 for my ignition switch/starter/electrical debacle.
$60 for the switch, $240 for labor & troubleshooting.
<sarcasm>So, $300 for a $30 part, not TOO bad. </sarcasm>
After I pay, he asks me if I could help him with his computers sometime next week. He is having all sorts of trouble. He says he is willing to pay me the going rate for the work.
Any thoughts on what my "going rate" should be? :>

Well...I was referring to the practice of billing out for one's own incompetence.
Rinkrat now has the opportunity to take his time checking everything from the electrical cords to the humidity in the office where the computer is kept. Nevermind the fact that Windows is crashing...he must be thorough and look at all possibilities!

Not too much detail.
"Checked" the starter, Clutch Pedal Switch. He then determined it was beyond his abilities, and had to bring in an "expert" in Automotive Electrical systems.
Even though I had made mention to the Ignition Switch on 3 seperate occasions, he said that probably would not be the problem. He said it had to be a relay or ground wire problem.

As far as billing for the computer goes... He mentioned he CANNOT get a virus on his computer because he uses Dial up internet access.
