I'm about too install a boost gauge but ...

I want to hook up the line where I'll be able to read the boost that goes to the engine. I mean I want to be able the read the real boost I get to the engine.
Why? Because I think I have a boost leakage somewhere and I want to be sure I have one.

So where should I hook up the boost line to the boost gauge to have the most accurate boost reading after all leakages?
Is hooking up to the line going the FPR, good? Is it better to tap into the vaccum line in front of the manifold?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Nadim.

if you have a DBW car, that line bends underneath the manifold, not straight to BPV

So you cut it underneath the manifold (between 1st and second pipes) and tap in there, here's a pic of the line in stock form:

ANd here's it tapped:

That's how I like 'em! :-)

How do you get under the manifold? Is it hard? What line is in front of the manifold?(m)

The line in front i'm referring to is an inch from bottom of the pic.

Did you install the Ed digi gauge? Are they your pics? I have yet to do mine!

Ahh....come on.

That's how it was when I bought the car. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

With all the work you put into your boost gauge redoing it and perfecting it...

...I'd figure that that mentality would extend past the gauge.

=)

FYI - My little project is coming along nicer than previous iterations. I'll send you some pics.

Andy_FL 06-05-2002 11:34 AM

Yeah yeah yeah..

...now that I'm thru with school, I've got more time on my hands to take care of the "minor details." Yes please do send me pics! That reminds me....version 3 coming up! :-)

LOL!

Yeah, once I get done w/ my little project, I'll be redoing my setup as well. By then, I should have some nicely color matched dye and paint so that it'll look nice and stock.

=)
