basically
its supposedly a slight improvement over stock, most noticeable in the lower rpm range. to get the full idea, read djnelsen's mod reviews to find out about performance upgrades for 2.8's. or rob@robsaudiworld

Re: 1-drill 50-holes = neat sound...
A lot of the VW VR6 people just drill holes in the bottom of their air box. I got bored one day and did this to my A4.... Now it has a real loud neat sounding hum/whine/growl sound. It's not as cool sounding as the VR6 but it still sounds nice at 5k RPM when the VVT kick in and it really howls... No power increase I would imagine but I doubt those K&N's really give you more than *MAYBE* 1-2 hp anyway...
