ipod connection???
hey guys is there any way to get songs from an ipod to play on the b5 A4? like a AUX in or something...i know that the A4 didnt have AUX in but anything aftermarket? Im also guessing the cd changer doesnt recognize mp3 format.

yes there are plenty of aux addapters that use your current CD changer cable to
allow direct connection to your head unit.
I guess which one depends on which stereo (symphony?) and how many pins your cable has.
I don't know much about it since I have an aftermarket HU... but yes you can.

yes,
you get your ipod and a set of external speakers for openers. Make sure you have plenty of room in your rear seats such as no kid car seat, etc. and you should be fine. If you don't have room for an external speaker set you should have good luck just using the supplied earphones that came with the ipod.

curious: In another car that i have, I had an FM modulator that burned out...(junk)
I also have a Sirius FM modulator that won't work with anything other than sirius radios. The FM station must be set through the sirius radio and the line out is not 1/8.
How is that XM modulator..and set up? Is it just a standard modulator? I should just get another HU for the car rather than mess with it though.

Standard pass through. The only problem is, it only works if it detects a load on the +6v line
going to the XM cradle. There's nothing else there, just the radio and the cradle. It acts kind of like a VCR and sitting in the middle of your cable and TV.
For what it is, it works great. Plus, it's gives me some unusual bragging rights for ingenuity.

Dension ice link. Can find them for like 100 bucks or less now. Mine just broke though, no idea why.
I have to unplug and plug it back in (behind head unit) for it to work, and it shuts of again right away. My last one worked for years though without any issues. Here are two pics of it. It charges the ipod and lets you control the track selection using the head unit, or actually push buttons on the ipod. It is selected by hitting cd changer button.
