issues with my clutch>>>>i think its the clutch...(update)
I did a moderatly high rpm launch, spun the wheels (nice) went through third gear only to find no fourth, or third, or second etc etc. Pull over, the car is still running except I can not put it into gear. Turn the car off and I can cycle through the gears perfectly. Turn the car on again same problem cant get into any gear. The wierd thing is when I put the clutch in with the car in 1st and try turning the engine over the car moves! My initial thought is that the clutch is constantly engaged. Something along those lines where it is not actually working correctly. Does this seem like a decent preliminary diagnostic? Where else should I be looking? I cant drop the transmission till friday.
Thanks

congratulations your high rpm clutch drop crippled your pressure plate.
so it seems. Could be slave cylinder or bent shift forks, however that is caused by pulling the car out of gear while not fully disengaging the clutch, which I'm sure you do not do.

think a short shifter could have something to do with that?
I've heard that a short shifter can cause lots of problems with the transmission/clutch. I am currently (well until friday) running a b&m shifter at the highest % reduction. I plan on returning this back to stock this week... i figure i can not hurt returing it to stock.

good to know, i have another new clutch and flywheel at home, are there any other parts >>
I should have on hand aside from the slave cylinder and shifer forks? (and i think/hope i have those parts on hand)

Shift forks are not something you usually have on hand..
you would be looking at a transmission teardown for that.
IF it is in fact the clutch, have the Flywheel checked and resurfaced or replaced, new clutch disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing on hand.
