keyless entry

i'm looking to replace the keyless entry in my 96...i read the tech article and all but are there any systems that are better than others? And i went into this one store and the guy said i should just put another alarm on my car because it would cost the same. Is that true? thanks

I had mine replaced and the remote is $135 alone

The module is gonna be ungodly expensive like $500. This is Audi, anything can be expensive.

My 96 is a lepper

but I still love it.

I bought a AutoPage system (i can get you the model number) that I'm in progress of installing. My 96 didn't come with keyless from the factory. It was about $50/shippped. System works pretty well, but it's unplugged right now while I complete the mount for it. I can post more details if you'd like.

the install was relatively straightforward ...

i pretty much followed the FAQ, but since I had a different keyless module it took a little figuring to get the wiring correct. Also the module requires some programming to work correctly.

I have photos and can do a write-up, but it won't be until later this week/weekend at the earliest (gotten busy with work ... and I need to finish up an install of ecode/xenon/fog lights)

Did your system have the factory keyless?
