led tail light mod, brake light warning
hi guys, i have a 2000 A6 4.2 and i just bought and installed the led tail lights. when i installed them, my dashboard beeps sayings my brake light is out. i heard that this is because of the different power consmption. i found a write up on how to fix this using a resistor but the problem is that the guy who wrote it had a 2000 A4 and the wiring is slightly different.
1) Does anyone know how to use the resistor and what wire it should be used on?
2) maybe someone can tell me how to take cut the wire from the cluster so the error doesnt come on ?
Thanks,

it has 3 wires that.......
it has 3 wires going to the led. black red and white. the black is the ground and the red and white are positives from the brake light and night light. my question is, do i put resistors on both the positive, or on the negative and how do i put on the resistor.

again, i've never done this and dont know anything about it but i'd just cut the neg. wire and put
it there. Cut the black wire, strip the ends, connect ends to resistor, apply tape.
