Default Low boost after new DV

I recently toot my cat to the mechanic to get an inspection and to change my axles. since i figured he had the car to have him install the forge 007 valve i bought a few weeks ago. when i got the car back the car was only boosting 5-7 lbs on the yellow spring, where it usually hits around 15lbs ( unitronic stage 2 chip). i changed the spring to the green one and little to no difference. any ideas?

The car is 2001 a4 1.8t, stage 2 unitronic, atp down pipe and forge 007 dv ( green spring, no spacers)

I'm no expert but I think that the DV can be installed backwards, so check that first. If still in doubt, put your old stock one back in.

im actually thinking it might me a boost leak, thats putting my ecu into safe mode. when the car is warmed up at idle my boost gauge is reading 25hg, when i believe it should be running at 18-20.

On most boost gauges, ambient air pressure (as when the engine is off) is zero, positive air pressure is in PSI, and negative air pressure is in inches of mercury (inHg), with 30 representing a perfect vacuum. So your gauge reading 25 would mean that the engine is idling with lower manifold pressure than before, which is opposite an air leak.

Dam, there goes my boost leak theory. now i gotta find out why the ecu is in safe mode. no codes other that the 02 sensor, which i cleared.
