Lubing up stock rear sway bar....have the rear of the car up...
 

and noticed that some of the creaks I've been getting have been a result of my sway bar. What areas should I hit w/ grease? I noticed a rubber bushing held on by a U-shaped clamp & 2 bolts. Should I remove this and lube it? TIA

and a squeaky exhaust hanger. sounding like a ragedy hoopty. no more back to back under carraige washes for this one.

I just re-greased my Intrax last month..
 

Not the hard to do, just make sure you wear rubber gloves. It can get messy with the grease. Just slather the hell out of it, tighten everything back done, then wipe the excess off the sway bar. No need to a attract dust and dirt.

what kind of grease did you use?
 

i'm using a combo of white lithium, mobil pink grease, & silicone spray.

i used valvoline synthetic grease from kragen...like $5 and its held up well

Guys, I have had this problem with my Neuspeed bar.
 

I took off both U-clamps, sanded the inside of the bushings (where they contact the bar) lengthwise. This puts tiny grooves in the bushings parallel with the edge of the bushing. Neuspeed recommended this. I've found it retains the grease for a longer period of time. When I had the bushings off, I also drilled through the clamps and bushings and installed Zerk fittings. Now, whenever my bar starts to squeak I just use a grease guy in them. It takes ten seconds. I just grease them with the bar still in place until I see grease oozing out the side of the bushings where they meet the bar. Works great! I usually have to grease it every six months or so.

for what its worth, when i was replacing my engine mounts and had to remove the front brackets...
 

the bentley manual specifically says NOT to "apply grease" to the sway bar bushings...

again, just an FYI.

I have a couple of fittings in my garage. May need to do that next time I'm under the car.
