Measuring oil temp with VAG-COM - can it be done?

I asked this before, but didn't get a clear answer. I wasn't able to get a measurement on mine, but a guy with a B5 S4 was apparently able to.

Any of you know which block to measure?

good question. oil temp is not an Motronic parameter. EFU does it nicely . . .

well, the gauge gets its signal from somewhere. I was hoping to tap that.
