Mechanic doing compression test to find if i blew a headgasket HELP
I have a 98 A4 1.8t with GT28RS. It began overheating and after replacing the thermostat myself in hopes that would help and bleeding the system it still overheated. He does not think it is the waterpump and feels it is the headgasket. Could the head be cracked also? Anyone ever had suck a problem

im guessing he checked those already now that he wants to do a compression test
I really dont know but he has ruled out waterpump so if he is competent then im guessing he also ruled out the other possibilities.
