Metric speedometer on 99.5
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/sm995.jpg"></center><p>Notice there is no notch for 95 km/hr.
Someone here suggested that it's because metric speedometers are non-linear. Does the mph speedometer have the same property?
Another question -- the notches for 30, 50 and 130 marked in red. Any idea why?
Thanks!

The someone was me, so I can give you some more answers.
No, only the metric speedo is non-linear. However, with that, you have covered the whole world except the USA, thus, all around the world you will see such a speedo.
The red dots are because in most EU countries, the speed limit within city limits is 50 and 130 on the freeway. Furthermore, in residential / school zones, the speed limit is most often 30.
Hope this helps,

yup, notice the increment dist. from 0-10 is the same for each 10 til 80. 100+, that dist is 20...
Between 80-100 is where the change in linearity is performed. from the thickness of the lines, I'd assume it goes 80, 85, 90, 100, like you suggest and thus my subject should say that the 0-10 dist is the same for each 10 til 90.
