Miss fire problem
I have a 1998 audi a4 2.8 quattro 5 spd and have been fighting a missfire problem for about a month now, I changed coil pack, spark plugs, maf, vacum lines, I recently did a timing belt and water pump as well. As long just did a compression test and every cylinder is good. My missfires are on cylinder 4,5,6. I also did o2 sesnors recently as well I'm just lost at this point and don't know what else to try.
Any input would be great thanks!

I had multiple misfires as well, and then i learned that the MAF can cause that to happen- after a lot of hemming and hawing, i noticed (barely) that one of the wires to the MAF was busted- have to peel back some rubber and plastic, but i would check there to make sure they're all connected all the way- older car, old plastic on the wires that's been heated and cooled a million times and loves cracking and either shorts out or breaks after it gets corroded

I have the same cracked wires issue on top of the airbox. I was able to save the connections with some added insulation and such. But you are correct, this could easily be overlooked. If so you could spend a lot of time and money replacing parts that are not necessary. Look closely at the old wiring loom.
