More bull**** from NEW COUNTRY OF AUDI
Now I HAVE to pay $1500 for the new ECU. I went in for a new Throttle Body/Accelerator and they installed a new ECU and pedal instead. Being chipped and all, I wanted my old ECU back in and just get the pedal replaced. That was agreed by on the phone since I don't want to spend $960 on a new ECU. Now the dealer says the parts department can't take the ECU back because it has been plugged in. So.. the dealer decides to replace the ECU, which isn't covered by warranty, and never gets my consent for the new part. I was expecting them to take it back but since the service people ****ed up and didn't know that, they want to put the ECU on my bill. I'm taking the legal route because they are imposing a $1500 charge on me, which I didn't request nor did give consent for them to replace the ECU. The dealer's mishap is now my mishap? **** no, see you in court New Country.

I had a similar experience with unauthorized work at Fairfield (m)
I brought them aftermarket pads to install while my car was in for routine service. (I always put a low $ amt. on the envelope so they have to call me for authorization before they do anything) Svc. Mgr. called me and explained that it would cost $500 to have new pads installed. I told him to forget it. Svc. Mgr. calls back 2 hrs. later and explains that the mechanic didn't pay attention to his note and did the work anyway. Since I did not authorize this work I was not charged. Definitely take them to court. I have heard nothing but bad things about that dealer!!!
Good luck!
