On my 2000 A4 rear fog lights only lights up on the left side, how can I fix this problem

That is EXACTLY how the rear fog light should be, drivers side only. There is nothing wrong with your car.

dealer said truck driver are trained to pass cars on left.. so only left rear fog light for safety

Lighting both would make it appear as though you're driving with your brakes on - which is pointless

i love when people ask this question it's so cute, and it tells you in the owners manual, at least mine does, but i was surprised that when i did the inpro lighting smoked tail light kit, that now both of my rear fogs light up, thought it was pretty cool.
