My check engine light errors, and Wetterauer's response...
My first email to them;
"Hello, I had my chip reprogrammed as a .8 bar chip back in February. Since
that time I have been getting a check engine light diagnosed as a checksum
error in the control module. I cleared the code and swapped the stock chip
back in and all is well. When I put the .8 bar chip back in I get the same
error. I have determined it is the chip that is causing the error. The chip
actually performs great, but there must be either a bug, or there was a
problem when the program was burned on. I myself had to program many
thousands of EPROMS in my career and understand that sometimes a flash
doesn't always program as intended. I will be sending the chip back to be
reprogrammed, please remember that it is a .8 bar program and not a 1 bar
program. It should arrive sometime next week, please call me if there are
any issues.
Thanks,
Michael J. Keller"
---And Wetterauer's Response---
Hi Mike,
Sounds as though your thoughts about the actual chip itself could be right
on, if a check sum code is coming up. That is definitely not normal. Thanks
for the new address, I will update my files.

Of all the bad customer service posts, I though I would post a good one. Wett rocks!
