My driver side low-beam headlight went out yesterday. What should I replace it with?
I JUST had my 15k service a month ago, and they replaced the same blown headlight on the driver side. So is this some kind of loose electrical circuit issue, or maybe just a bad bulb they gave me? In any case, I want to try some aftermarket bulbs. What are all those "Xenon Look" bulbs, that everyone talks about, called and where can I get them?

Xenon look are crap-look at the faq...this is a chronic problem with the h7's-I've had 5 or 6 done
The service guy will give you a bulb, or do it himself in 30 seconds w/out an appontment.

If service guy is sloppy, you will burn bulbs quickly
The headlight bulb is a halogen bulb. These should not be touched directly. Prior to installation of any halogen bulb (home or car use), you should wipe them off with a cloth and alcohol. This will clean the bulb and keep the oils and such from your skin off of the bulb. Those oils will cause the bulb to burn out prematurely as they create hot spots on the surface of the bulb when they are heated by the bulb itself.
Anyway, I suspect that if you've been through this a few times with the same service dept, then your service guys are not being careful enough with the bulbs.
No other bulb is going to last any longer and in fact, this forum had complaints over the years of after-market bulbs lasting even shorter periods of time.

FWIW this is a chronic problem according to my service dept.
They change 5 bulbs a day...and its not just sloppiness-I have personally supervised them installing it with no contact with the bulb. Who knows why...

I jsut got back frm the dealer. He changed them out for me real fast....
And he said the same thing. I wasn't the only one who's bulbs kept burning out. Apparently it's been happening with almost everyone they've serviced over the last 5 months for some reason. He said that these Osram H7 bulbs that are stock equipment really suck.
