Need a dependable commuter car but around 2K for my younger brother. Fresh College grad.
I know 2K is not much, can someone point me to the right direction.

Older, used civic.
|
Older, used Subaru... you can drive it into the ground and still run
|
can't go wrong with the Tercel.
|
2nd.
So long as you can't go wrong with virginity.
"Hey baby... I drive a tercel......... That's a Toyota." |
Honda 4cyl anything, 4cyl Toy anything, 4000SQ, E30 BMW, Anything Jaguar is great.
OK, the last one was a joke........
The others are cheap and overall very bulletproof. Sure the Audi and BMW will probably require little things but overall they will run and run and run. |
Late 90's Toyota Camry <--- The Energizer Bunny of comfy daily commuters.
|
except the tires are so skinny, something is bound to go wrong =)
|
I'll argue that.

the audi would sit for months and i'd be driving the tercel. I love that car...just sold it a month ago before i moved up here. =(

This was my DD for a while and is for sale.
Absolutely can't beat it reliability and MPG wise... also blends in with the crowd for the most part, isn't hideously ugly.

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157971</a

Used Subies are a pain to find though...
Owners rarely give them up. but a great choice if you can find one!

Tons up here in New England :)
But you can't beat the 1990 Audi V8 I picked up last year for $600!
