Default Need Help ASAP Please - (Power Steering Question)

First of all, I have a 1997 A4 2.8 FWD with 107,000 miles on it. I have known for quite some time that I have a small power steering leak. For the past two days, whenever I start my car in the morning, there is a strange moaning noise coming from the engine bay. it eventually goes away after a little while. I am assuming my fluid level is getting too low. The shop I go to is closed until Tuesday. Am I OK to wait until then to have them top off my fluid? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Default Why can't you just top it up yourself?

This might be a good time to address the leak.

Default Just get some of the power steering fluid "with conditioners" that is compatible with your car...

At your local unfriendly and ignorant auto parts store.

Default I had a small leak as well, turned out one of the hose clamps on the reservoir was bad...

If you hear groaning then you definitely have a low power steering fluid level. Not good for the pump if the fluid is low. I would only drive it to the dealership to get some fluid.

Check out the hoses going to the reservoir, could be one of the clamps is no longer holding tight enough. Easy fix to do.

Did the fluid end up being the problem?
