Need some suggestions for the upcoming winter months...
Now if you don't know, I'm another one of those Chicago boys and I'll have my A4 probably either in the end of august or beginning of september. My 1.8T does NOT have the sport package (no need for it, I'm buying new wheels/suspension anyways)
Question for you guys - I'm buying 18" wheels but since it's already september, shouldn't I just wait until Spring and put the $3k towards something else? I was going to buy sport package wheels and 225/60 Dunlop Graspic HS-2 to run in the winter. I've got someone who will buy my stock 15"s and tires for $450. So my winter setup will run me like $700 (for tires and wheels, minus the money I made on selling mine).
So my initial 5k investment has turned into a $3k investment. I've now got an extra $2k to spend. I wonder what I should buy... choices choices choices. The $3k was going to pay for exhaust, apr chip, and new h&r springs / koni shocks. Now I've got some extra cash... maybe for a body kit? That's a touchy issue with 99.5s, so I'll have to look into that. Maybe the lightened flywheel / clutch assembly from APR? Or a vented hood from them? A rear wing and new interior kit (one of those with blue suede that Autobahn International sells) new brakes? Choices, choices, choices...
Just some thoughts I'm having...

If you don't plan on putting on those 18s soon, I would wait till spring. They will just be sitting in your storage space all winter. Your winter idea tires sound like a good idea.
