Are OEM batteries really this BAD???

Or is it my ignorance that caused my troubles? So last night when I tried to leave work I found out that my battery is dead (left the map light on overnight, duh) and the car won't start. After jump starting it, it was ok later during the night (startup) after I drove around a few hours to let it charge. But this morning when I tried to start the car it's dead again! The thing is, this OEM batter is less than 18 months old, the old one was replaced under warrantee last year.

Did I destroy the battery by leaving a light on? Or was it bad to start with. The weather in Seattle isn't that cold (at least compare to Midwest) so I don't think the temperature had anything to do with it.

1. Make sure it's got water in the cells. 2. Hook it up to a charger overnight.

Measure the voltage in the AM. If it doesn't measure 12, then yes, it's probably dead.

My OEM lasted 6 years 95,000 miles. The MOLL rules

How do I check if it's got water in the cell?

Read your manual.
