offset and handling

how is handling affected by offset

if i run

32mm front and 28mm rear

it'll add understeer, in theory. how much? probably not enough to notice. but, why add more?

and, 28mm in the rear might rub.

and, if you're running anything more than a 235, at 32mm, it might rub too.

found some cheap forged wheels off a merc for my DD wheels

I worked too hard on my suspensions to junk it -

and most of my DD is all highway

the wheels off the merc are

18x8 and 18x9
Offset is 32mm front and 28mm rear

i am going to throw the same size wheels on them 225/40/18

so i don't get a wheel staggered set up with width - but do have a minor offset issue at least better then a width stagger

225 on a 9" wide wheel will be super stretched

although depending on manufacturer, some are wider then others. Mine are Fuzion 235s on 18x9 wheel and they look like this:

agreed. 225 on a 9" wide wheel is a no go, imo. should be a 245-255, but that could cause

even more rubbing issues.

only one way to tell... and report back

you may be able to get away with 235 on each... but why not just get wheels with the right offset

and width?

because i found some forge wheels off a merc for

under 800 - they are used - but hell at least they won't crack like cast wheels
