ok so here is the tie rod end problem that i had to put up with on saturday.

ok so the drivers side tie rod came off pretty easy as it should. the passengers side however is the badly worn on and also the one that was so sutbborn on saturday that i didnt mess with it after some tries. there is so much rust near the bolts that pb blaster didnt help. i didnt have a torch either so that trick went away also.

the picture shows the tie rod end with the counter 22mm bolt all the way to the left and the black rusty bolt that is used to adjust the toe in on the wheel. the problem that i have is that the threaded bolt (in the ecs picture) is not secured to much anymore inside the linkage. i could turn the thing by hand with some force. using the 22mm bolt as a turning help the whole thing was turning inside. so question is now: if i place the assembly back in the hub in try it then it would make no difference since its the bolt inside that is loose.

i will use the torch first to heat up the bolt and get some of that rust to break loose.
if worst comes to worst. i slipped twice in the 18mm black adjuster nut. how much of a trip would i be in for when that thing gets rounded off some more. my repair book calls for a different piece of the assembly inside the rubber that can be replaced also. anyone gone that far yet?

drivers looks nice and works fine

i told kevin after the drivers side that i would get the passenger done in 10mins. maybe i jinxed the work by saying that. =)

tech sections tie rod end article

Could be because it's a 7 year old post.

Good things deserve maintenance.
