N75 problem? Only reved it up to 4500 but it was boosting 15 psi in neutral. What's my new problem? CEL is gone. Car is running slightly rough but not misfireing and is fine at idle.

Default didn't touch anything...

yes I am boosting in neutral!!!! all i did was remove the maf and reinstall it. What happens when a N75 dies. Would a bad MAF kill the N75?

Default Hmmmm...

if the lines were swapped on the N75, it would overboost...but only if there was a load on the engine.

You should be able to test the N75 with a multimeter, but assuming it's okay, something is telling the ECU there is a load on the engine (should only boost when there is a load)...what sensor would be doing that??

Default well...

i really wish i had my bently with me.

It isn't overboosting since it's only 15psi and I see 21 with my K04 and GIAC chip. The car is ndbw. I really am out of ideas right now. Do you think it's possible something went through the air filter hit the maf sensor causing that to fail and is now stuck somewhere. It seems really far fetched but I don't know what could fail to make it assume the engine has a load on it. Perhaps something in the N75 is stuck? I'm running out of ideas. I'm ready to pull the front end off and just start looking for anything melted or disconnnected but I don't think i'll find anything.

Default If I knew more, I'd tell you where to look...

I'm just rationalizing...you'd need bentley and a vag.com to follow the yellow brick road.

If you just want to check something under the hood...take a look at the vac lines running between the N75 and turbo...make sure both are clamped in place properly.

Default all vac lines look fine...thanks for trying to help i'm just really frustrated

maf read fine yesterday during the vag check at idle and 2500 rpms. 4 g/s and 10 g/s respectively. But was throwing a code. Wasn't really able to go above that and car isn't driveable. Car isn't throwing any codes right now.
