Okay what broke this time (Clicking noise dependent with speed)

My 98 Quattro 5 speed has a clunk/knocking sounds that is dependent on speed. The sounds got very bad about 2 weeks ago and at the time I thought it was a wheel bearing going bad and when it got worse I figured the bearing totally died. Ordered a new bearing got it installed today and the noise got better but it is still there. It comes from the front right tire area. Under hard braking the noise silences and when making a left turn the sounds gets slightly worse. When the sound was at it's worse I could feel a vibration in the steering wheel; however, with the new wheel bearing the vibration is gone and noise has quieted but it's defintly not gone.

I'm starting to this it's a bad CV joint but at slow speeds (backing out of the drive way) it sounds more like a scraping sounds and as speed increases the rate it happens goes up also and turns into a knocking sound without a vibration though. I do not hear a knock or a pop when the wheel is turned full lock. Anyone have any ideas or things I should check?

I would say to definitley check your suspension....struts, bushings etc....

If it's rotational, it's probably related to the axle or brakes.

Sounds like it might be something as simple as a loose bolt. I would start with the caliper bolts and carrier bolts, and also check the bolts that hold the axle to the diff housing.
