Default My driver side is shot too...has been for a year.

Dont know if I want to bite the bullet to fix it. I love my heated seats, but at what cost?

Default

Boy, your time is expensive...a couple hours of my time is worth saving $380.

Default Agreed. I spent half an hour repairing a part that would have only cost $16+tax...

Why spend money when you don't have to?

Default I'm glad I have manual non-heated seats. 10 hours so my *** isn't cold the first 5 minutes?

like my headlight washers, not worth the time to fix. I didn't question why they stopped working when they did, I was just glad.

Default With the seats, the repair only buys minimal time. If it was a permanent fix, I'd be all for it.

But it takes more than a few hours to do a seat heater. Why not just do it right rather than do it again a few months later.

Kris, with your $16 part repair, I suspect part availablity was a key factor. Either that or ease of repair should you need to revisit.

Default who's to say that repairing the heating element is temporary? If you fix it 'right'...

it should last a long time.

Default First, it's only $189. Second, you are assuming your repair will last.

It won't.

And yes, my time is valuable enough that I am careful how I spend it. Repairing things that should be replaced only to revist them a few months later is very low on my list.

This isn't a Chevy Cavalier; fix it right.

Default Fixing it right means replacing it.

It isn't like a regular wire. Conventional repair methods are temporary at best.
