Default Ooo that smell, can you smell that smell? (and where the heck is it from?)

Well I bought my Avant not knowing that the previous owner had deposited hand fulls of dog hair behind the panels.

I yanked out all of the panels and the headliner and I've cleaned everything, yet when it's warm and damp I still have a wonderful doggie smell.

Any ideas where this smell might be trapped and how to get rid of it?

Default smell is definitely trapped in the carpet. I would get a carpet steamer with

an accessory attachment and clean your carpets.

I think @Wires is onto something here. I checked that coolant channel and it shows signs of having contained coolant which had evaporated. There were also the same signs inside the top of the reservoir (but outside the pressure seal). Next time the car is hot and smelly, I'm going to check that channel for fresh signs of coolant.

FWIW, I just had to top off the coolant reservoir. The last time I did that was almost two years ago, so the car isn't losing coolant at an appreciable rate.
