Default OT: but does anyone here happen to work for Dell Tech support? or know PC tech support?????

I put in a new 45GB HD in my Dell Dimension... and now i can't install any OS's(i've tried Win2K and NT 4.0, and turns out that my resource packet never came with a Win98 CD or boot disk)

any help would be appreciated(i'm stuck with my P-2 400 Win2K machine for now)

Win2K and NT4.0 should both be bootable CD-ROMs. Other than that, you can make a bookdisk at bootdisk.com or make Win2K bootdisks from the CD-ROM, using the makeboot.exe applet.

Would advise to check to see if there is a BIOS update. Maybe that would help.

It needs a BIOS upgrade first to see the large drive. You need to flash the latest BIOS

You need to download an NT Driver for your controller to floppy, then press F6 when your first boot the NT CD-ROM. It will let you load supplemental mass storage drivers, which you get from the aforementioned floppy. Don NOT simply boot the CD and wait for it to ask for additional drivers. That usually doesn't work. Press F6 at boot time.

Default yes, your controller card is probably too new for NT to see it.

Happens pretty frequently with new pcs, especially dells.

Skydive is right, you need to find the right driver and install that when setup asks you what kind of card you have.

Good luck- if you're just doing dual boot NT/2000, then you're ok using NT loader. If you are thinking of doing dual boot 98/NT or any variation of that, think about picking up System Commander. It'll make your life much easier.
