OT: How to remove rear seat of 2001 Passat? It's different from 2001 A4.
 

Sorta off topic, but can anyone on the forum help with steps to remove rear seat of a 2001 Passat?

I am helping my bro in-law install a LATCH(child restraint) metal bar in the rear of his Passat. I did mine (A4) previously and it was easy on A4's. We simply can't get the rear seat off from his Passat.

iirc, I think you just pull up.

i have pulled mine up out quite easily for the Audi A4, and in the same way I we tried it on the Passat but it won't come off...

The 2 front clips on each side came off, but it seems something in the middle is holding the seat down. Can you help pull a pic from ETKA to show the illustration where all the clips are on the Passat seat? It's a 2001 model.

Ah, now I remember. You have to push the seat in (towards the rear of the car)
 

and that unhooks it from the rear of the seat. Push back, pull up and away....that should do it.
