performance chip

I am new to this forum and i am sure you guys get this question all the time. But what is the best chip for my 99 audiA4 1.8t quatro. Also can anyone tell me about the Tiptronic chip that is available.

I'm doing giac ecu & tip chip this weekend. =) (more)

From the most recent reviews you really can't go wrong with either giac or apr. Just ends up being a personal preference, difference in cost, and if any local dealer is to be found(a big +).

It seems (and correct me if I'm wrong apr guys) but the latest version of giac seems to have a little more torque (actual street use, not dyno charts) in 1st and 2nd gears for getting around town, otherwise the two chips are pretty similar.

apr makes a nice stock vs chipped switch ability from the cruise control stock. (although kinda pricey) IMHO: If you have the money and want added convienence, goapr; if you want to save a hundred bucks or so, go with giac.

As for other dealers, they just don't seem to be as good from user reviews. Also, giac and apr have had the least reported problems over long period surveys. Survey is available on audiport.com?
