Default PLEASE help with A/C question!

I'm sorry to bug you guys, but I've searched and searched and couldn't find an answer. It's 100 degrees here and my a/c has stopped working. I can't hear the compressor start up and the recirc button does nothing when pressed (doesn't even light up). Audi says I need to get a new low pressure switch, so I did, and I installed it. The old one was stripped for some reason. Anyway, the switch didn't change a thing. The pressure reading from the low side is approx 45 psi, so I think that's within spec. Do any of you have any suggestions?

Default check for power at the clutch

you should have 12volts, you don't have it vag the climate control unit and see what fault codes are showing up.

Default Re: check for power at the clutch

Thank you for the suggestion. How would I go about checking the power at the clutch, if you don't mind? I don't have a VAG unfortunately, so it's pretty much off to the shop with her if I can't fix this.

Default there is a black plastic cover around your power stearing fluid fill area...

remove it (just pull it off). There are a bunch of wire connections. You want the center green one. Unplug it. Check the top part of this connection for voltage. If you want to bypass everything and try to jump it, run 12V to the other side (lower portion of the disconnected wire running to the compressor.
It is green single wire connection. Make sure you have the right one and you are running 12V jumper to the compressor and not back to the car.
What does your outside temperature read?

Default computer diagnostic program for our cars

it does a bunch of stuff from figuring out problems, changing settings, measuring and checking performance.

You need 3 things for this... A computer, usually a laptop (doesn't have to be fancy you may be able to find a cheap pentium I or II on ebay for under $50).
A cable that connects to the car ( a few places sell them but I'd recommend rosstech since you will also need the software)
As I mentioned, you'll also need software ( there is a free version to check and clear codes but it is very limited)
Link should explain it all.<ul><li><a href="http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/index.html">http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/index.html</a</li></ul>
