Rebuild SIMILAR, and here's why.....
While I won't be as elequent as Sameer, but I surely will try...
Real estate economics make a memorial as we know it impractical. This is not unfortunate, as a better kind of memorial can be built, one that is a statement that not only will we weather this moment in history, but we will tread on and beyond it. We eill make it an ascpect of our lives. We will make it a living monument to our ability to make such cathartic moments a PART of our lives, a part that defines who we are and what we do.
We should rebuild it in it's likeness, a metaphor to it's former glory and symbolism. It should rise from the ashes like a pheonix, and gladly tower again. It should remind us of the old, so that we may mourn, but be different in a manner that exemplifies how we are tempered by such experiences into something entirely better. Aestheics aside, it should be a bit taller, a bit brighter.
