Problem with coolant leak, just happened...

I was driving tonight when it sounded like something fell of my car and got run over. I got home 5 minutes later and coolant was leaking pretty aggressively. I have pulled off the bumper and cannot find where the leak is. When I pour water into the filler tank it all leaks down the front bottom left of the radiator (as you are looking at it) but I can't see where it is coming from. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a hose there that could have been punctured?

I can't tell

I think you popped a hose from freezing. Check heater hoses too.

Just found the problem... NEED HELP

Somehow the blades broke off of one of the fans and punctured the radiator. Which fan is on the driver side and how easy will it be to replace the radiator and that fan? I've done a lot of work on cars so I think I can handle it myself unless it is particularly tricky on this car.

BTW, it is a 2001 A4 1.8T

Clutch fan... it's easy :)

Just replaced my radiator 2 weeks ago.

You have a manual or auto? manual is far easier, no AT lines to worry about.

Its easy. Follow the instructions on the timing belt tech to get the front of the car off. Carefully move the AC condenser to the side. Undo to the hoses (this is the hardest part, they stick. Pull up the metal clips on the hoses and jiggle aggressively)

The radiator is held in place by two plastic clips at the top, they pop up easy. Take the radiator out, transfer the coolant sensor and mounting hardware over to the new radiator.

then do the reverse.
